Starting a new series of paintings.

Theses are two, unfinished, new paintings that I am working on simultaneously.  These paintings are in oil; one is done with Cobra water mixable oil and one with Gamblin traditional oils.  The technique I am using is primarily glazing layers.  Each one of these 5" x 7" paintings currently has 4 glazes each.  The water mixable oils are not working very well using their glazing medium.  It takes entirely too long to dry (weeks), and it still feels sticky.  I like the traditional oil paints better.  I did those 3 landscapes using water mixable oils and they worked fine with direct painting.  Cobra is working on a solution to the drying and sticky glazing problem.  I will give them another try if these problems are fixed.

My subject matter will be western and floral.  The paintings are of a hibiscus flower and a saddle horn.
