Tropical Patterns #2 reworked

My painting, “Tropical Patterns #2”, on the left was finished in 2014. If you look at my old posts for 2014, you will see the process I used to create this painting. I recently looked at the painting and decided it was too monochromatic, so I added more red, yellow and blue. I made the underside of the leaves at the top a different green, which is how they appear in nature. The ‘After’ photo shows the results.

Hawaii Five-O

I'm watching Hawaii Five-O, that I recorded from last Friday night, and both of my paintings showed up on the wall in a scene.

1819 Charleville (France) dragoon pistol

12" x 18" oil painting of an 1819 Charleville (France) dragoon pistol. I would like to thank the Texas Ranger Museum for allowing me access to this pistol. If you haven't been to this museum in Waco, Texas, it's well worth the trip.

"Cleaning Out The Barn"

Finished, it is 15" x 15", oil on museum series panel gessobord. I set up this still life in my studio.  I paint with many layers of glazes.  Each layer takes a long time to dry before I can add another layer.
